How do I register for a course?
You can register for a course through our Courses Page. Simply select the course you want to take and complete the registration process.
How many in-service hours will I earn for completing a course?
Each course is 30 hours unless otherwise specified. Be sure to check the course details for any variations in hours.
What is the price of each course?
All of our courses cost $35, providing affordable access to high-quality professional development for educators. There are no hidden fees—just straightforward, budget-friendly pricing.
Is the VTC a CTLE certified provider in New York State?
As of now, The Virtual Teacher Center is not a CTLE-certified provider in New York State. We are actively pursuing approval and anticipate receiving CTLE certification by Spring 2025.
Who are the VTC instructors?
Our courses are taught by experienced educators, including teachers, administrators, and other licensed educational professionals. Each instructor brings real-world expertise and practical strategies to help you grow in your professional development.
When will I receive details about completing the course I signed up for?
After registering, you will receive an email from the instructor two weeks before the course begins with all the necessary details.
Which platform will my class be hosted on?
All of our courses are hosted on Google Classroom. Once registered, you will receive an invitation to join the class, where you’ll access course materials, submit assignments, and communicate with your instructor.
How long do the courses run?
All of our courses run for one full month, giving you ample time to complete the coursework at your own pace.
Can I learn on my own schedule?
Yes! With asynchronous courses, you don’t have to rearrange your work or personal life to attend a class at a specific time. This flexibility is perfect for busy educators and professionals who need to fit learning into their own schedules.
Do I have to keep up with a set pace?
No. You can go at your own pace—rewatch lessons, pause when needed, and take extra time on challenging topics. There's no pressure to move at the same speed as a traditional class.
How is course completion verified?
At the end of the course, your instructor will review and verify that all required coursework has been completed.
When will I receive my certificate?
Approximately one week after finishing the course, you will receive a certificate via email confirming your course completion and the total hours completed.
Can you guarantee that my school district will accept these professional learning hours?
No, we cannot guarantee that your school district will accept the inservice hours you complete through The Virtual Teacher Center. Each district has its own policies regarding professional development approval.
Will the VTC help me in persuading my district to accept these in-service hours?
Upon request, we can provide a letter explaining the course content, learning objectives, and professional value to help you advocate for credit with your district. We recommend checking with your school or district beforehand to determine their acceptance criteria.
Can I become an instructor for the VTC?
